Biography

Dr. Viswasanthi Chandra (Santhi) is a research scientist at Ali I. Al-Naimi Petroleum Engineering Research Center (ANPERC), at KAUST, Saudi Arabia. Santhi received her degree in Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. She has a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, UK, where she also completed her MSc degree in Reservoir Evaluation & Management. Santhi has over 10 years of cumulative academic and industrial experience in UK and Saudi Arabia, including her work with Schlumberger and BG Group. During her Ph.D. and at BG Group, Santhi’s focus was to develop a cross-disciplinary understanding of carbonate reservoirs, especially in; carbonate reservoir characterization, reservoir modelling and simulation, and using production data for history matching. Santhi’s current research interests include upscaling from pore-core-reservoir scales and application of multi-scale multimodal imaging and characterization methods for reservoir characterization and enhanced oil recovery studies.
